Bringing your organisation’s untapped wisdom and the experiences of your peers in the UK and worldwide to bear on your challenges
While the forces of social, economic and technological change have made the world an increasingly complex and unpredictable place, the knowledge and ingenuity necessary to respond to these developments have never been more within reach.
I conduct primary and secondary research for organisations in the public and third sectors.
My research spans a diverse range of subjects:
• Disability
• Health and social care
• Education and skills
• Children and families
• Housing
• Accessible technologies and environments for older and disabled people
I aim to help you make better decisions and develop more effective strategies for your organisation by harnessing the evidence to your advantage. Meaningful improvements can often be made just by looking at what other organisations are doing and assimilating those insights to suit your own needs.
By helping you take a step back to see your organisation through the eyes of your clients, staff, funders and peers, I will assist you to improve the design and delivery of your services.
I provide a variety of research services:
• Policy and practice research briefings: Explore a wide range of research and best practice evidence relating to the challenges your organisation faces.
• Planning for the future: Assess future demand and competition for the services you provide by evaluating population demographics and other key trends that will influence the strategic direction of your organisation in the future.
• Process and impact evaluation: Develop robust evaluation procedures to demonstrate the impact of your organisation’s services on the lives of the people you serve and uncover areas for improvement.
• Consultation and engagement: Make sure you hear the voices and opinions of your clients, staff members and other key stakeholders on organisational strategy and development.
I can help you interpret the results of your research and recommend how to turn words on a page into action.
Here are a few of my recent projects:
• The production of a briefing on funding and social investment opportunities available to voluntary sector organisations and community enterprises for a new local authority commissioning trust for youth services.
• A review of good practice in adult and children’s services to inform a comprehensive assessment of services provided by a local authority.
• Tailored research services and advice to help a recreational farm ensure its services are fully inclusive for disabled and older people.
• An evaluation of assistive technology usage at a number of third sector care organisations.
